Simple DIY Advent Wreath

Simple DIY Advent WreathWhen we shifted our focus from doing more to doing less during the holiday season, it became clear that our heart was in the celebration of Advent rather than the ticking off of days in December.  We slowed down, cherished small moments and let go of doing more than we could handle.  I’ve always loved centering our family during the Christmas season around an Advent wreath.  I am drawn to the symbolism of the wreath circle and it’s never-ending gift, the evergreens and their everlasting beauty, and the candles shining their light on the world each night we light them.  Say a prayer or simply admire your wreath together, either way, offer yourself and your family this moment of peace and reflection daily.

materials:

I like to use a pre-made 8-10″ evergreen wreath. Use the green floral wire to attach the brass candle ring to the wreath in there places.  Cut the wire so you can’t see any from behind.  Insert candles, one for each week of Advent.  Place a white pillar candle in the center to light on Christmas.
