There are long standing faves, some recent finds, and a few from my must-try soon list. I hope you enjoy reading about my cherished San Francisco this week. Keep checking back for more guides all week. Happy Summer + Safe Travels!
Where should we stay? Friends, family and readers often ask me where to stay when visiting San Francisco. This is a tough question for most locals to any city as we don’t often stay in hotels in our own towns. I have stayed in one of these myself and would love to do a stay-cation in any of the following.
Or try a vacation rental with Kid & Coe in San Francisco, Oakland, or Menlo Park/Palo Alto
There are so many neighborhoods to explore in San Francisco. Each with its own unique feel. Tourists don’t have to stay at Union Square like the guide books may lead you to believe. Try Nob Hill or the Presidio or even Sausalito for a change of scenery and yet close to everything. And if you are coming in the summer, you may want to consider a stay outside of the fog belt. After all, “The coldest winter I ever spent, was a summer in San Francisco,” – Mark Twain
