Day Dates
The other day we went on a double date with friends to the 49er game. We are so busy with three kiddos that dates tend to slip by us much too often. We’ve be trying to get creative on our dates since Saturday nights are typically booked, Friday nights our kids have sports, and weekdays don’t work well with 3 kids in school and 2 needing homework help each night. Hence the resurrection of the Day Date. Last week, we met for a quick lunch at one of our favorite little spots. It was so fun to have a break in the day together. This weekend, we had a football game planned with friends that was the perfect amount of fun.
Day Dates are the best way to see your partner in a new light. We have gone golfing, played tennis, taken a hike, gone SUPboarding, gone to a museum and met for lunch over the years. Sunday was football! We tailgated, played corn hole, and cheered on our favorite team all with great friends. The best part was that we kinda felt like we were in college again! How’s that for a mood enhancer, take 20+ years off your age just by going on a date! I’ll take it. It’s also so intriguing for me to watch my hubby with friends. It’s a great way to enjoy your partner through someone else’s eyes as they tell jokes and laugh their heart out. We played against each other at corn hole and got all competitive and silly. A little friendly competition is good for the soul and always makes for lots of fun!
Day Dates are one of our favorite ways to date your spouse. What are your favorite Day Dates? How do you date your spouse?
ps. Have I told you about the way we date while traveling together yet?
