Getaway to Miami
This California girl was so very excited about an opportunity to travel to Miami Beach earlier this spring. I had never been to Miami and only to Florida one other time in my life many many years ago, (so many I can’t tell you how many)! When my husband gave me the news that he was invited to spend a few days at meetings honoring his work this past year, I could hardly contain my excitement.
I saw everything I wanted to see in Miami Beach. We spent time on the gorgeous beaches, stared in awe of fancy yachts bigger than I ever imagined they could be, dined well, swam in the sparkling blue atlantic and walked through Little Havana hearing about the cultural and musical history of this part of town. Miami lived up to all my expectations. Being from the West Coast, I have visions of Florida as a place where rich and famous spend their holidays and the history of America being a refuge for those seeking political freedom is real. It’s as historically complex as most major American cities though it paradoxically sits in an idyllic Caribbean setting.
I throughly enjoyed each moment and am happy to share them with you in the following storyboard. I hope it inspires you to seek out history and beauty in your corner of the world.
