30 Random Acts of Christmas Kindness | The Simple Proof Christmas

A few years ago I encouraged my family to think about ways they can spread the Christmas spirit throughout their days during the month of December.  We brainstormed a list of fun and easy ways we could share kindness to people around us even if we didn’t know them. Some of my thoughts on the topic were focussed on the following:

I wanted my kids to have a greater sense that we are all connected.

I wanted them to experience first-hand that in giving, one truly does receive.

A sense of joy and hope in themselves and offer it to others.

Encourage a feeling of building others up which in turn creates a sense of pride in themselves.

Hope that we will carry this idea with us throughout the year.

Some of our items were free and simple, helping neighbors or friends, writing notes or making phone calls. Other ideas we had were to surprise random people. And boy did we! One day we set out to spread cheer to shoppers at a nearby shopping center by handing out candy canes with little notes attached.  Sadly, every single person thought we wanted something in exchange for the candy canes.  What they were overjoyed to find out is that all we wanted was to spread joy. Simple.

Here is a list of 30 Random Acts of Christmas Kindness you can try too.  Please share your ideas in the comments below, I’d love to add them to the list!

  1. I love this. Great ideas. My daughter has an advent calendar where each pocket has a “to do” small act, and these are such fabulous ideas for that. Thank you!

  2. I love this, and I think it is a wonderful thing to get your children involved in. I will definitely be instigating some ‘r.a.c.k’ in my local community, thanks for the great ideas xx
