2 Days in Chicago
I recently read an article in Afar Magazine that reminded me it’s high time to share a post I’ve had in my drafts folder for more than 2 years. I was inspired by it because on our last stay in Chicago we were in awe of an illuminated show on one of the skyscrapers within view from the Chicago Athletic Association’s fantastic rooftop bar. Only this time, Chicago’s newest light installation is going to be massive – more than two football field lengths to be exact. I can only imagine what a spectacular display it will be. We cruised right along the proposed site, TheMart during our river architectural boat tour. It is indeed massive. The digital light production will begin on September 29th and run for the next 30 years! Yup, 5 days a week from March to December for the next 30 years Chicago will be artfully illuminated in the most magnificent way.

Cloud Gate (“The Bean”) – pro tip – go very early if you want a photo solo, otherwise embrace the masses
