Elf of a Shelf

The Simple Proof Christmas | Elf on a shelf

Elf on a Shelf

Our family has had an elf joining us each December since 2009.  The kids named him “Zitter.”  No idea why really, just because.  He arrives sometime around the 1st of December and leaves us on Christmas Eve.  Zitter is fun and funny, mischievous and wild, and always a good reminder that there is something bigger than us during the Advent season.  Here are some of his antics this week.  I’ve put more ideas for a little silliness with your Elf on a Shelf up on my December and Holiday Ideas pinterest boards if you’d like to take a peek.

Once my youngest turned 5, I figured that none of my kids actually believed the elf on a shelf was actually moving himself around our home. But it turns out that they did believe in the magic of this season and all the wonder and faith that comes along with it. Even if it means you believe a toy elf can toilet paper the christmas tree himself. It’s one of the most beautiful parts of this season for me – the season of faith.

Have a fun week! The Simple Proof Christmas series can get you into the holiday spirit with easy beautiful inspiration to keep faith front and center during this Advent season. What are some ways that your family shares the spirit of the season?
