We are finally out of the woods, {pun intended}. Since 2002, I’ve either been pregnant or caring for a little one on the sidelines while my husband, then husband and son, and then husband, son, and daughter head up the mountain. This winter two huge things have happened – We are once and for all, done with diapers! Our 4 year old has been day time potty trained for 2 years, but just this winter was able to go all night. The second more monumental event has been our 3rd and final babe has learned to ski. She’s off the magic carpet and up on the mountain. It’s a major break through for us.
Even with less that ideal conditions for California skiing this winter, we managed to make the most of what we had. Some wonderful family memories being made on this mountain. Stories I hope will be told for years to come. Incredibly grateful for the Sierra Nevada, they fill my family and I with strength, joy, courage and a whole lot of smiles.
Lake Tahoe is a magical place no matter the season. We love it in the summer as much as the winter. It’s be fun to watch our kids learn to ski and now love to ski. It wasn’t something I grew up with and have had to learn as an adult. Happy I did, I wouldn’t want to be any other place for a family getaway with these guys.
