Warm water, cool drinks, lots of sunshine and no agenda. Looking forward to a much needed vacation week. The lead up to packing for a famiy of 5 is no small task. Sorting through last summer’s clothes for the kids trying to be sure everyone has a warm weather clothing they currently fit in, pulling out long forgotten swim googles and snorkel gear coated with last summer’s fun, and the syncing, charging, loading fiasco that was my son’s iPod left me exhausted and wanting this vacation more than ever. Here’s some of what made it into my suitcase.
It’s never fun for me to consider getting into a swimsuit for the first time in a season, but these jcrew suits make it a lot easier with their fun colors and multiple shapes and styles. Thye’ve been my go-to suit for years.
I’ve had this fantastic hold everything, but don’t look like a schlep straw tote for 4 years, it’s still going strong.
I found this designer a couple of years back at a local boutique. She consistently offers great patterns and cuts for skirts, dresses and maxis that are wrinkle free and beachy.
Loving these fab nail colors for spring from butter this season.
I don’t go anywhere without a stick of Colore Science Mineral Powder Sunscreen any time of year. I keep a stick in my car, in my purse and in my bathroom. For summer, they have a line with a little bronzer to it that makes it look like you’ve been sun kissed, while protecting your skin from damaging sun affects. They range in protection from SPF 20-50 and are easy to apply throughout the day, even over makeup.
For air travel, I don’t like to bring my nice hats as they always return home looking a little sad. I picked up this trendy straw fedora at Target for $12!
Leave it to Tory Burch to make a beautiful, low key, wear anywhere flip flop. I can wear these to the beach, pool, and in a restaurant without feeling like a beach bum. Especially like them in the nude color, goes with everything.
Now I need just need a good book and an umbrella drink and I’ll be all set!
