Todos Santos Beaches
The beaches along the Pacific coast of Baja California are incredibly beautiful. Each one has a slightly different characteristic and charm. We went to three Todos Santos beaches during our stay. The first beach was Cerritos Beach. We spent the most time here. We surfed and boogie boarded all day. The only time we took any breaks was to have lunch at the beach bar right on the sand. We loved it there! Fish tacos, live music and cold drinks, pretty close to perfection!
The second of the Todos Santos beaches was the beach where they do the baby turtle releasing. This beach is just north of town in a more residential area. Deep soft sand and wide beaches made for a gorgeous spot for the setting sun. The turtle releasing happens through the winter and early spring at 5pm. You get to time it with sunset which makes it an extra special experience.
The last beach we went to, Playa Pescadero, was in hopes to find an alternative to the more crowded Cerritos beach. It was picturesque. Not another soul was there which was amazing! The cove was surrounded by beautiful cliffs. The water here was not as calm and did not lend itself to surfing like Cerritos beach. We ended up having lunch here and then heading back down to Cerritos to surf despite the crowds.
For more information about the Todos Santos beaches, I found a good post about how they each differ. Keep in mind that many of the local beaches are at the end of dirt and sand roads and other than Cerritos beach we did not find one that had any services.
Todos Santos was a wonderful get away all on its own. Though if you are looking to explore the area more, we loved our time out on Isla Espiritu Santo in the Sea of Cortez.
I´m so glad to see that you are blogging again! I love following your family´s travels and missed your blog posts. This area of Mexico looks really lovely, but would be a long way from our home in Germany. Hopefully one day!!
Thank you so much Meredith! That means a lot to me. I love writing and sharing our travels, finding time is the trick!
best to you, domonique
